DV Lottery 2027 in Cameroon: Dates, Registration and Help
DV-2027 registration is not open yet. A US federal court has ordered the State Department to announce the dates by 29 October 2026 at the latest and to open registration by 1 November at the latest, for 30 days. The US government appealed on 19 October: we will update this page as soon as the official announcement is out.

When will DV Lottery 2027 open? The key dates
The dates below come from the court order of 14 October 2026. They are deadlines: the State Department can open earlier, and the real dates will be the ones in its official announcement.

Cameroon time: noon in Washington is 5 pm in Cameroon until 31 October, then 6 pm from 1 November (the US changes its clocks).
Who can apply from Cameroon?
The Diversity Visa program, often called the green card lottery, has two conditions. Cameroon was eligible for DV-2026, with 3,533 people selected (spouses and children included); the official list of eligible countries for DV-2027 will be published with the announcement.
Be born in an eligible country
What counts is your country of birth, not your nationality. Someone born in an excluded country (like Nigeria in recent years) can sometimes apply through the country of birth of their spouse.
Have the required education
The GCE A Level (at least two subjects) or the BAC, or otherwise two years of experience within the last five years in a job that requires at least two years of training.
What to prepare this year
The DV-2027 rules are not the same as in previous years. Many online guides are still wrong on these points.
A valid passport
Compulsory for the principal applicant since April 2026: number, expiry date and a scan of the photo page. Your spouse and children do not need one to register. In Cameroon, getting a passport takes several weeks: do not wait for the opening.
1 dollar, paid online
Registration now costs $1 per principal applicant, paid on the official portal. No international card? M-Travel pays it for you and you pay us back at the office.
A compliant DV lottery photo
600 x 600 pixels, under 240 KB, white background, taken less than 6 months ago, no glasses, no editing, and not the same photo as a previous year.
Your whole family declared
Your spouse and all your unmarried children under 21, even if they will not travel. Leaving one out gets the whole family refused on interview day.
Are you married? Each spouse can submit their own entry, as long as each one declares the other. This is the official rule, and it is the only legal way to have two entries in one household. A person registered twice is disqualified.
DV Lottery 2027 registration, step by step
Registration is done only on the official website, dvprogram.state.gov, during the announced period. You can do it yourself; here are the steps.
- Check your eligibility: country of birth, education or work experience, valid passport.
- Prepare the photo and the passport scan of the principal applicant, then the photos of your spouse and children.
- Fill in the online form on dvprogram.state.gov, with exactly the same details as on your documents.
- Pay the official dollar on the payment portal shown by the website.
- Keep your confirmation number: print it and make a copy. Without it, you cannot see your result.
- Check your result from 3 December at the latest, on the Entrant Status Check page of the official website. Nobody will tell you by email.

Cash, Orange Money or MTN MoMo: pay the way you want
The official dollar must be paid online with an international card, which most Cameroonians do not have. At M-Travel, that is not your problem.

The only official website, and how to avoid scams
Every year, fake websites and fake messages target applicants in Cameroon. Remember these six rules.
One website only
Registration is done only on dvprogram.state.gov. An address that does not end in .gov is not official.
One fee only: 1 dollar
Nobody should ask you for 50,000 FCFA for a « secret », a « reserved place » or a « fast-track file ».
No results by email
A message telling you that you have been selected is a scam. Results are available only on the official website.
Keep your number
A middleman who keeps your confirmation number can later make you pay to get it back.
Nobody can improve your odds
The draw is random and the same for everyone. A serious agency helps you avoid mistakes, nothing more.
Opening: only the official announcement
Some adverts announced an opening on 15 October: that was false. Trust the State Department announcement.
What happens after the draw?
If you are selected
It is not a visa yet, and time is short: everything must be done before 30 September 2027. You need to fill in the DS-260, gather your birth certificate, diploma and police record, do the medical exam with an approved doctor and prepare the interview at the embassy in Yaoundé. If you are not selected
The lottery is not the only door. We offer you a free assessment of three realistic routes: Canada (francophone mobility, Express Entry, studies), the Ausbildung in Germany, or a study project. And for the interview as for Canada, good English is always an asset.
An honest note. In recent months, the issuing of DV visas was suspended and then challenged in court. The situation may still change before 2027. We keep you informed, and if you are selected, each step of our support is charged only if it becomes possible.

Can my husband and I both register?
Yes. Each of you can submit your own entry, declaring the other as spouse, with all the children. That is our Household Pack at 10,000 FCFA.
Can an agency improve my chances?
No. The draw is random. What a serious agency can do is avoid the mistakes that disqualify an entry: photo, passport, a family member left out, double registration.
When and where can I see my DV-2027 result?
By 3 December 2026 at the latest, on the Entrant Status Check page of the official website, with your confirmation number, your name and your year of birth. We check the result for free for anyone who gives us their number, even if they registered elsewhere.
Is there a Canada lottery?
No, there is no lottery to immigrate to Canada. The real routes are Express Entry, francophone mobility or studies, which M-Travel has been supporting for years.
